The world
There is no ground under any of it
Twenty-three places, all of them held up by nothing. Bridges between stone islands, staircases that end in open sky, water that falls and never lands. You will spend the whole game above it.
Where you wake up
Liberty Heaven. Pale stone, cherry trees, and the open sky on every side. Merchants, the people who hand out work, and one road leading out. Everybody who has ever played this game started standing on this spot, including whoever you are trying to find again.
The road out
Seven places between the first town and the cold, and the game does not tell you which order to take them in.
- Zheldet — the second town. Far enough that going back costs you the afternoon.
- Sodo — deeper in, and quieter than it should be.
- Relic — something stood here before the game begins. Parts of it are still standing.
- Aurora Lake — open water with light on it, and things that live under the light.
- Great Canyon — broken ground and long drops. The falls are real.
- Mystic Lake — still water. Nothing moves until it does.
- Frozen Creek — ice, and the first place that will kill an unprepared character outright.
Underneath
The sky world has an inside, and it is not built like the outside.
- Crystal Mine — worked tunnels. Somebody dug these, and then something else moved in.
- Labyrinth — no map will help you. You learn it by walking it wrong.
- Temple of Illusion — what you are looking at and what is there are two questions.
- Armageddon — the last ground before the drop.
The Abyss
Four floors. Each one is not a harder version of the one above it — it is a different place, and it wants something different from you.
Nobody arrives at the fourth floor alone. That is not a rule the game enforces; it is what happens.
Where Dans settle it
Two arenas, and the server keeps score in both. Dan War is where Dans — the game’s guilds — fight each other and the result is written down — wins, losses, and who struck hardest. Golryun Battle runs by its own rules. Between them sit the World of Ordeal, Breine, and two corridors — Seducing and Abandoned — which test something other than your equipment.
The far end
The Shrine of Eternity. Black sky, stars overhead, and nothing past it. It is the last place in the world and it looks like the last place in the world.
Every map announces itself when you cross into it, and tells you whether other players can attack you there. The game will not surprise you about that. It will surprise you about everything else.
